IOI conducts hackathon to find best digital method for property sector
Set out with the aim of revolutionising the property industry by using technology, IOI Property has recently conducted a hackathon for young programmers to test their ideas and innovation.
IOI Properties chief sales and marketing officer Jason Tie said digitalisation efforts are inevitably changing the business model.
“Even the traditional property industry is forced to embrace the change. Hence, we need to move forward and shake up the industry with digital innovation,” he said.
The hackathon, which aimed to find the best digital solution for the property industry, was won by Green Phoenix, beating 63 other teams.
The team comprises three individuals, who are former Universiti Malaya students, namely Madin Maseeh, 26, and his brother, Maish, together with Yoosuf Zimaam, 23.
The team, along with the two runner-ups, will be further supported with funding, business advice mentorship and test beds for incubator or accelerator programmes.
