CIDB leads delegation of 21 Malaysian companies at Construction Indonesia 2023

KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 14): The Construction Industry Development Board Malaysia (CIDB) is leading a delegation of 21 Malaysian construction players to explore business opportunities in Indonesia, according to the government agency’s press release dated Sept 13.
The construction-related businesses took part as exhibitors in the Malaysian Pavilion hosted by CIDB at the Construction Indonesia 2023 (CI2023) exhibition held from Sept 13 to 16 at the Jakarta International Expo.
The building and engineering products and services promoted include the industrialised building system (IBS), building information modelling (BIM), formwork system, advanced building materials, equipment and machinery and other related construction technologies.
The Malaysian Pavilion was officiated by the Malaysian ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia Datuk Syed Md Hasrin Tengku Hussin on the opening day of CI2023.
In addition to the Malaysian Pavilion, CIDB is also hosting a Malaysia-Indonesia business networking session, involving 52 Indonesian construction-related companies along with members of Asosiasi Kontraktor Indonesia and Asosiasi Kontraktor Listrik dan Mekanikal Indonesia on Sept 14 during the event.
According to its statement, this is one of CIDB’s continuous effort to promote Malaysia’s construction industry in the global market via exhibitions, business networking sessions and other international engagements. “The objective of CIDB’s participation in this exhibition is to provide exposure for construction-related companies that are new to the market and explore the vast opportunities all over the entire Indonesia archipelago.”
It added that the business networking session serves as a platform for companies to interact and gather info on potential project opportunities and as well as to build strategic partnerships with their Indonesian counterparts. “This effort is in line with one of CIDB’s function under Act 520 [Construction Industry Development Act] to promote, stimulate and assist in the export of services relating to the construction industry.”
