NCT Group unveils sales gallery of NCT Smart Industrial Park
KUALA LUMPUR (April 3): NCT Group of Companies officially unveiled the sales gallery of the NCT Smart Industrial Park (NSIP) in Sepang, Selangor on Tuesday.
According to a press statement on Tuesday, the 732-acre NSIP is taking root under Selangor’s Integrated Development Region in South Selangor (Idriss) initiative, where it will be introducing clean electrification and other climate-friendly alternative energy sources, combined with cutting-edge infrastructure, raising the sustainability bar with the goal to become the first net-zero emissions industrial park by 2050.
The industrial park will be developed in three phases, and feature solar-ready factories and a low-carbon global centre. It has a gross development value of RM10 billion.
“With today’s (Tuesday) unveiling of the sales gallery, we are providing potential investors with a preview of what the future holds in terms of a managed, sustainability centric park, coupled with the opportunity to take part in building a circular economy that nurtures the growth of green, profitable and resilient businesses,” said NCT Group founder and group managing director Datuk Seri Yap Ngan Choy in the statement.
Poised to set a new benchmark for net-zero industrial parks, Yap said the NSIP is premised on delivering a transformative environment that facilitates profitability and growth, without compromising on the company’s sustainability principles.
“This direction aligns closely with our corporate commitment to achieving a 45% reduction in carbon emissions by 2035, with the NSIP a key contributor to the group’s overarching goals, while we support the nation’s net-zero target by 2050,” said Yap.
Some of the sustainability initiatives to be implemented in the NSIP include rooftop solar photovoltaic installations, a digital twin technology deployed on a cloud-based artificial intelligence (AI) Internet of Things platform, an AI-managed centralised labour quarter catering up to 30,000 workers, a rainwater harvesting system and a 100-year flood mitigation plan, as well as the integration of Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies to cater to the electrical and electronics, semiconductor and smart logistics industries.
In addition, the NSIP will also serve as a one-stop centre offering diverse services from key entities such as Invest Selangor, the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (Mida), Human Resource Development Corporation, the Social Security Organisation (Socso), and the Kuala Langat Municipal Council.
“We take great pride in being located in Idriss, and plan to work hand-in-hand to elevate the state’s stature as an economic powerhouse, while supporting the nation’s broader goals of climate-friendly growth and attracting solid foreign investment.” Yap said.
The opening ceremony was graced by Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari and attended by Selangor state executive councillor for investment, trade and mobility Ng Sze Han, and former Selangor state executive councillor for trade and industry Datuk Teng Chang Khim on Tuesday.
