Atrium REIT manager announces CEO’s retirement effective Aug 31

KUALA LUMPUR (July 31): Atrium REIT Managers Sdn Bhd has announced the retirement of its chief executive officer (CEO) Chan Kum Chong, effective Aug 31, 2024, to pursue personal interests.
Atrium REIT Managers is the manager of Atrium Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) (KL:ATRIUM).
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Atrium REIT Managers said its chief financial officer (CFO) Lee Hooi Hong has been designated and appointed as the acting CEO, effective Sept 1, 2024.
“The appointment will ensure a smooth leadership succession as Lee has been the CFO of the Manager since 2007.
“With his 30 years of experience in financial accounting and management, we believe Atrium REIT will continue to chart its long-term growth in distribution and net assets value per unit,” it said.
The company said Lee would continue to oversee the functions of the finance department in addition to his new role as the acting CEO to ensure a seamless transition and continuity of the Manager’s leadership.
Meanwhile, Chan had been with the Manager since 2007 and held the CEO position since 2010.
Under his leadership, Atrium REIT’s total assets had grown from RM182.3 million at the beginning of 2010 to RM643.9 million at the end of 2023 or an increase of about 350% over 14 years.
