Gamuda Land takes over management of Paya Indah Discovery Wetlands in Kuala Langat

KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 4): Gamuda Land Bhd, the property arm of Gamuda Bhd (KL:GAMUDA), has taken over the management and operations of Paya Indah Discovery Wetlands at Gamuda Cove, Kuala Langat.
The 1,111-acre wetlands was opened to the public in January 2020 and jointly managed by Gamuda Land Leisure and Perhilitan until October 2024. According to a media statement on Thursday, this follows the recent tripartite signing of a memorandum of agreement (MOA) between Gamuda Land, the federal government and the Selangor state government.
“Our vision is to bring accessibility to the Paya Indah Discovery Wetlands. We aim to curate a relaxing space where visitors can unwind and rejuvenate, all while discovering the beauty and wonders of nature. The newly added outdoor activities, such as the donut boat ride and the shuttle truck ride for boat cruise from Tasik Rusiga, are suitable for visitors from all walks of life,” said Gamuda Land senior general manager (leisure and hospitality) Liong Ve Lyn, adding that the wetlands is home to 14 species of reptiles, including crocodiles, 225 species of birds, and mammals including hippopotamuses and horses.
To commemorate this occasion, Gamuda Land has introduced a new lineup of outdoor experiences, including a two-day event —The Wetlands Wonderfest — on Saturday and Sunday (Oct 5 and 6), with free entry for the public. Visitors can experience the newly added donut boat ride and the shuttle truck ride for the boat cruise from Tasik Rusiga. Additionally, visitors can also expect local vendors at pop-up bazaars from Jom Havoc Fest and Camp Cafe & Picnic by Dluca.
It is also working towards refurbishing the Paya Indah Discovery Wetlands Gallery, which will introduce new interactive and engaging elements that will allow visitors to take a closer look at the biodiversity within the wetlands.
“We hope this expanded list of activities at Paya Indah Discovery Wetlands will further enhance Malaysians’ love for nature and school children’s knowledge in conserving and protecting nature. This eco-learning hub in Klang Valley, with upgraded ecotourism activities and facilities, is bound to be a natural environment for visitors to not only bond with their friends and families but also connect with nature,” said Liong.
Among the activities at Paya Indah Discovery Wetlands are animal feeding, safari tours, boat cruises, cycling, jungle trekking and more. The wetlands is open from 10am to 5pm daily (closed on Wednesdays, except for Malaysian school and public holidays).
