PETALING JAYA: Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming has commended 168 Park Selayang Sdn Bhd (168 Selayang Park) for turning around the formerly abandoned housing development Selayang Star City. 168 Park Selayang was established after its parent company, Infra Segi Sdn Bhd was appointed by the High Court in 2022 as the rescue contractor and project manager to revive this development.

Nga recently visited Block C of the development – now known as Spring Residence – which accommodates buyers affected by Selayang Star City, the previously abandoned project. The block has been fully handed over without an additional increase in the purchase price.

“With developers like 168 Park Selayang, the government’s goal of achieving zero abandoned housing projects by 2030 is well within reach. Their dedication to delivering quality developments on time has set a benchmark for the industry, supporting the nation’s mission to build trust and sustainability in the property sector,” Nga said during the visit.

168 Selayang Park chief executive officer Edward Lum said the project has given confidence to the company to take on new projects.

“We are proud to say that this project has given us the confidence to take on new projects, and in our abilities to deliver products of exceptional value, with designs tailored to meet the modern lifestyle and evolving needs of today. Selayang is transforming into a vibrant and dynamic township, and 168 Park Selayang is at the heart of this new chapter, reshaping the skyline and setting new standards for the area,” he added.

Also present was Infra Segi Sdn Bhd managing director Lum Chee Kin.

The entire development, also called 168 Selayang Park, now consists of three residential blocks and a four-storey mall. Spring Residence (Block C) is the first to deliver vacant possession. Block A–known as Lush Residence–offers units ranging from 560 sq ft to 950 sq ft and a starting price of RM294,000. Block B– renamed as Bole Residence–offers unit sizes between 674 sq ft to 1,074 sq ft and a starting price of RM397,000.

The construction stage at Lush Residence is now at 75% while Bole Residence has reached 35%.

The four-storey mall of the development is already operational. Two levels are dedicated to retail, and the other two levels are for sports activities. 168 Park Mall houses a variety of prominent tenants, including Village Grocer, Harvey Norman, Anytime Fitness, Llao Llao, and Chagee. The mall will also boast the first pickleball facility in the area.

The development is strategically located, offering easy access via major highways such as Jalan Ipoh, Jalan Kuching, the Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2), DUKE, and the Kepong-Selayang Highway.
