PM: 25% property assessment tax discount for KL’s affordable housing owners

PRIME Minister (PM) Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today announced owners of affordable housing in the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur (KL) will be given a 25% reduction of their property assessment tax.
He said the discount will affect more than 25 thousand owners under the Rumah Mampu Milik Wilayah Persekutuan (Rumawip), PR1MA, Perumahan Penjawat Awam Malaysia (PPAM) and Regional Residency housing in the Federal Territories of KL.
“This assessment tax reduction will benefit 25,677 affordable house owners, which involves a reduction in tax revenue of RM2.07 million per year.

“A reduction in the residential assessment tax of this affordable house can be obtained to reduce the burden of living costs of bottom 40% income group (B40) and middle 40% income group (M40) citizens in the Federal Territories of KL,” he said in a statement today.
The discount will be given for the second half of this year (July-December 2023). — TMR / pic source: pr1ma.my
