CIDB appoints Mohd Zaid Zakaria as chief executive
KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 6): The Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) has appointed Mohd Zaid Zakaria as its chief executive, effective from Sept 1.
Mohd Zaid succeeds CIDB’s former chief executive, Datuk Ahmad ‘Asri, who ended his contract on Aug 30, after serving 38 years in the public sector, said the CIDB in a statement on Wednesday.
Previously, Mohd Zaid was CIDB’s deputy chief executive I and CIDB Selangor’s state director, with a track record of serving the organisation for 22 years in the technology development, contractor and levy, and enforcement sectors.
He also has more than 34 years of involvement in the construction industry, including as a quantity surveyor in the Public Works Department for 14 years.
Mohd Zaid holds a Master of Science degree in civil engineering (construction engineering and project management) from Oklahoma State University, the US, and a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in quantity surveying from Liverpool Polytechnic, the UK.
