KUALA LUMPUR: Urban property developer SkyWorld Development Bhd’s (SkyWorld) wholly-owned subsidiary Aspirasi Cekap Sdn Bhd (ACSB) has entered into a joint development agreement with PR1MA Corporation Malaysia (PR1MA) to develop affordable homes on a 1.97-acre leasehold land in Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur.

The project, named SkyAwani Prima, will consist of 491 units of affordable apartments, each with a built-up area of 900 sq ft. Its location offers excellent connectivity through KL Sentral, a vibrant mix of cultural diversity, proximity to key business districts, reputable educational institutions and access to medical facilities.

Aligned with SkyWorld’s Healthy Building, Healthy Living philosophy, the Healthy Home concept of the project will maximise natural light, enhance airflow and increase energy efficiency, promoting comfort and sustainability. The design of SkyAwani Prima homes will elevate both personal wellness and community engagement, setting a new benchmark for sustainable living.

Each unit is priced at RM390,000, making these apartments a practical choice for middle-income households seeking affordable housing solutions. This initiative addresses the growing demand for affordable living spaces while fostering community development.

Under the agreement erms, ACSB will oversee the development and construction of the project, which has a gross development value of RM191.49mil. In return, PR1MA will receive RM32.17mill as compensation for the land. The project is expected to be completed within four years from its commencement.

SkyWorld Development chief executive officer (CEO) Lee Chee Seng said: “By leveraging our expertise in urban lifestyle development and PR1MA’s commitment to improving community living, we are confident in our ability to deliver high-quality homes that meet the needs of a wide range of buyers. The strategic location of Brickfields makes it an attractive area for residential development, and we are optimistic about strong demand for these homes. Our goal, together with PR1MA, is to create living spaces that not only provide shelter but also nurture a sense of community and improve the overall quality of life for residents.”

He further added, “Earlier this year, SkyWorld Development earned its second consecutive World Gold Award at the FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence Awards 2024 in Singapore, for another SkyAwani project under our affordable housing series. This recognition underscores our unwavering dedication to maintaining high standards, pushing boundaries, and achieving exceptional performance in all that we do. Our focus remains on creating spaces that meet the needs of today’s buyers, blending affordability with outstanding design and functionality to enhance their quality of life.”

Also present at the signing ceremony were SkyWorld Development Group promoter Zafidi Mohamad and PR1MA group CEO Datuk Seri Mohd Nazri Md Shariff and group chief operating officer Zulkarnain Zainuddin.
