KUALA LUMPUR: Eupe Corporation Bhd (Eupe) recently marked a significant milestone with the topping-out ceremony of its latest project, Helix2 @ PJ South, a major step in the company’s ongoing commitment to reimagining affordable housing in Malaysia.

The ceremony was attended by key management from Eupe and TCS Construction Sdn Bhd, Helix2’s main building contractor. Helix2 is Eupe’s fourth high-rise development in Kuala Lumpur, specifically targeting the affordable residential segment in the capital. Building affordable homes is not new for Eupe. Over nearly 40 years of operations, the company has constructed more than 25,000 homes in northern Malaysia, many of which are affordable.

Group managing director Datuk Beh Huck Lee reaffirmed Eupe’s dedication to the affordable housing segment, which continues to represent a significant share of Malaysia’s property market. He highlighted that Helix2 showcases how Eupe’s award-winning approach to developing homes that offer long-term value can be successfully applied to affordable housing.

“While Malaysia’s economy and living standards are advancing, affordable housing remains a critical, long-term need. As housing becomes increasingly expensive, people have fewer resources to continually invest in properties. That’s why developers must rethink affordable housing design, focusing on long-term asset and lifestyle value rather than outdated methods,” said Beh.

He added that developers must view affordable homes not as short-term stepping stones, but as long-term investments. Sustainability in property development, according to Beh, must encompass not only environmental concerns but also social and economic viability.

Guided by its Shared Value philosophy, Eupe designs affordable housing to meet both current and future needs, providing a home for life. “In doing so, we create long-term lifestyle and asset value for buyers at every stage of life,” Beh explained.

Eupe’s approach represents a significant shift in affordable housing development and this is evident in the forward-thinking strategy behind Helix2’s design. This holistic design approach has contributed to the project’s strong sales performance, with a take-up rate of 95% to date.

“The development’s quick market uptake underscores the appeal of Eupe’s offering, which includes innovative features typically unavailable at this price point,” said Beh. These features include premium-style facilities, energy-efficient lifts and lights, virus-prevention infrastructure and modular spaces for both intimate and larger gatherings.

Beh emphasised that Helix2’s success demonstrates strong demand for affordable homes designed with future adaptability in mind. By anticipating how homeowners’ needs may evolve, Eupe delivers properties that provide lasting value and satisfaction.

As affordable housing continues to play a crucial role in Malaysia’s property market, Eupe remains committed to pushing the boundaries of design and functionality in this segment.

Also present at the topping out ceremony were TCS Construction Bhd managing director Datuk Tee Chai Seng, Eupe sales, marketing and design director Datin Michelle Gan, architect Calvin Wong and representatives from Eupe and TCS Construction.
