KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 25): Sunsuria Bhd’s (KL:SUNSURIA) net profit for its first quarter ended Dec 31, 2024 (1QFY2025) rose by more than five times to RM8.76 million from RM1.67 million a year ago, driven by higher contributions from its property development segment.
Earnings per share jumped to 0.98 sen from 0.19 sen in 1QFY2024, the company’s bourse filing showed.
Quarterly revenue rose 15.39% year-on-year to RM158.38 million from RM137.27 million, boosted by progressive profit recognition from ongoing projects such as Bangsar Hill Park, The Chapter in Sunsuria City and Sunsuria Kejora Business Park – Semi D Industrial (Phase 1) in Puncak Alam.
Its education division also contributed positively to the company’s revenue, with the opening of Concord College International School in September last year, said Sunsuria.
No dividend was declared for the quarter.
Compared to the preceding quarter, Sunsuria’s net profit fell 12.18% from RM9.98 million, while revenue rose 4.12% from RM152.11 million in 4QFY2024.
Moving forward, the company said that it will continue to focus on exploring opportunities in all its business divisions — property, healthcare and education — to promote a sustainable future.
“The group remains committed to value creation through continuous operational improvements, resource optimisation and effective cost management,” it said.
